Ok…we have been so busy since April…I’ll try to play catch-up…and get some photos over here soon. Liv’s softball team has won all but one game they’ve played so far…..last game and party is this Tues. night. We have had the most mildest…Spring like Spring in our almost 9 years of living in these parts….it was delightful. The heat and high humidity arrived 2 days ago….
!!! In May we got to go strawberry pick-in….Yummy…the girls both declared they would never eat another store bought S-berry again! We had our big Green and Gold Celebration…with our local GS service unit….on May 18th ….Wilkes provided the light refreshments….both a cheese and fruit mirror…it was a big hit! Our troop won the Gold Star nomination for the Brownie age level…so Liv and Lex got to go on stage to except the gift. It was our best turn out since it’s inception 3 years ago…we had a least 200 people….it was a great program….lots of recognitions and great speakers.
Water Country opened on the 10th…..but it was to cold to consider….we did go the following weekend….but it was still quite brisk…if you were not in direct sunlight.
We have taken advantage of no crowds day at BG…and last Sun Jun 1st we went in…just to participate in the Wild Days…programs. Two animal shows… one hosted by Ginny Busch and the other by Julie Scardina. Yesterday, we bared the heat to get in to see Jack Hanna….his show was great….the girls got his autograph. The whole park hosted lots of different animals for the this event…..it was cool…..and it the first time…I can say…we got up close and personal…with the likes of, an ant eater, penguins, kangaroos, lemurs, sloths…to name just a few….the girls could probably name them all…..I know they had a good time!
Our GS troop had it’s bridging ceremony for the older girls and end of the troop… Blow-out party last Wed. the 4th….they constructed a bridge…and then crossed it….Livia is thrilled to be a Junior….the party was at Chuck E Cheeses…. they had a blast……I’m soo glad its over!
We been hitting our fav. museums…the Richmond Science Center….remains to be our all time best ….this museum just has sooo much to offer…we are always discover something new. We saw the Grand Canyon River Imax movie…last time we went….it was awe inspiring! The Living Museum in NN recently opened their new travelling exhibit …Dino Mania….we went this past Thurs. the 5th. …We were there for hours….it’s the one with robot tron….huge moving interactive dinosaurs……very….life like….a little creepy….definitely cool.
Friday the 6th we had a Field trip to the Farmers Market …in the am…lots of hands on fun…great local produce and some a delicious Blue plate special at the Country Cafe….followed by some token spending time at CC and then the big movie opening of “K.F. Panda”…we also saw the the Narnia film…the girls loved both.
Today…we are off to a recruiting event…for the GS’s….called ”A Day in a Life” Lex and Liv decided they wanted to do a S’mores booth….should be some gooey messy chocolaty fun!
